Thousands in Belgrade fun run

Belgrade, April 17 - Thousands of people braved drenching rain to run a marathon and five km "fun run" on Saturday in Belgrade.
Some 10,000 people ran the short course through rainswept
Belgrade streets.
Forty-seven athletes from abroad, including two Germans and American Zane Branson, one of
the marathon's co-ordinators, raced the 42-km (26-mile) marathon.
At the start of the "fun run", Frano Mihalic, the only Yugoslav ever to win a marathon Olympic medal, set 500 pigeons free.
