Raoul Leoni for the IAAF

Czech Republic
Milan Skocovsky has noted several interesting results in the Czech Republic. Katerina Badurova (18/12/82) has twice improved the national junior pole vault record, first with 4.10 in Prague on May 22 and then again to 4.20 on June 5, once again in the capital. This young lady will most certainly be one of the favourites at the World Youth Championships in Bydgoszcz. In the national clubs championships in Prague, Lenka Fickova (10/1/82) ran 11.84 in a wind assisted (+2.5) 100m (and 55.45 for 400m several days later). The thrower Arnost Holovsky (82) obtained 15.11 with a 7.25kg shot put.

Latvia
The walker Maris Putenis (20/6/82) has established the best under 18 performance of the season over 10km with 40:15.1 in Valmiera on the 8 May.

Slovakia
Renata Medgyesova (28/1/83) high jumped 1.81m in Prague on May 25.
