As her training progresses, World indoor 60m champion Veronica Campbell Brown begins to looks forward to the 2011 campaign which will include a limited indoors season.
November also saw her and husband Omar celebrate their third anniversary with a short trip ‘home’ to Jamaica.
“Hi Everybody,
“Several weeks into training and so far so good.
“I will do a limited indoor season with a maximum of two competitions. I enjoy competing indoors as I find the small venue and the closeness of the fans quite exciting and an incentive to perform at one’s best.
“November means background training and also a special time of the year for my husband and I. Omar and I did take time out to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. We went to Jamaica spending a few days at the Grand Palladium.
“We had a most wonderful time and were well treated by the entire staff there and that giant lobster we had will take some background work to disappear…LOL.
“I was one of the fortunate athletes to be selected as a finalist for the IAF World Female Athlete of the Year.
“For me it was an honour as there were so many worthy ladies who despite their excellent performances did not make the final five.
“I take time out to thank my fans whose vote helped to get me to the finals and of course congratulations to Blanka Vlasic and David Rudisha who, respectively, took the Female and Male awards.
“I had a wonderful time in Monaco, which of course is one of my favorite stops on the Diamond League circuit.
“The IAAF conducted media sessions which I really appreciated and of course how could I be in Monaco and not do a little shopping!
“Thanksgiving Day came and with it the dinner table challenge (LOL). We spent the day with my manager and his wife and along with the expected eating we spent time giving thanks, watching television and playing board games.
