Tizita BOGALE (ETH)GOLD MEDAL4:08.06 (PB)
I feel very happy. This is my first time competing at the World Junior Championships and I’m delighted to have won it.
The race was very competitive. There was a fierce struggle for the win, and I’m happy to have withstood all of that to win.
I gave thanks to God who helped me.
Ciara MAGEEAN (IRL) - SILVER MEDAL - 4:09.51 (NJ)
It’s Ireland’s first ever medal on the track. I’m so bloody happy. I’m so proud. I just wanted to do it for everyone back home. And to finish with a national record I’m thrilled.
I knew I was in it on the final kick. I wanted to finish strong and I have the silver.
Nancy CHEPKEMOI (KEN) - BRONZE MEDAL - 4:11.04
