Yaime PEREZ (CUB)GOLD56.01m

I’m feeling very good. I was hoping to do well because I worked hard to prepare for this competition.

At the beginning, I didn’t expect it to be difficult, but the other athletes were really competitive, so I had to give everything I had.

Next year, I’m still competing, so I’m going to keep training and working to improve.

Erin PENDLETON (USA) - SILVER - 54.96m

I’m excited. I just wanted to stay calm and keep my nerves in check, but the wind was a really, really good wind, and I knew I could place, so I’m very happy with how I did.

I came to make finals and then I came to finals to place and then I’m off to college, University of Michigan, sophomore year.

I’m still competing, and I’ll be competing for three more years in college and after that I’m not sure yet.

Yuliya KURYLO (UKR) - BRONZE MEDAL - 53.96m

I felt good. After I made the third throw to make the finals, I relaxed and began having fun.

I’m happy with my result, very happy. I’ll try to throw farther.
