Romania's Perie Bianca threw her name in the record book on Wednesday's second day of the 12th IAAF Junior Championships.

On a cool afternoon, the 18-year-old Bianca threw the hammer 69.59 metres to account for the Championship second record, all in one day.

Bianca's winning throw, which came on her second attempt, bettered the 67.38m done for the title she won in Beijing back in 2006.

She joined Ivana Brkljiacic of Croatia, who won back-to-back title in 2000 and 2002, as hammer thrower to win consecutive titles.

Bianca, the Balkan Junior Championships, opened the final with a throw of 64.66m on her first attempt.

On her third attempt, she threw 63.53m, but had a foul throw on the fifth and 66.65m on the final.

Katerina Šafránková of Chez Republic threw 63.13m for second and Jenny Ozorai of Hungary was third with 60.80m.
