Javelin thrower Vitezslav Vesely and 400m hurdler Zuzana Hejnova will defend their titles at the IAAF World Championships, Beijing 2015 after being named on the Czech team.

Hammer thrower Lukas Melich, who took bronze in Moscow two years ago, is also on the team, as is world indoor 400m champion Pavel Maslak, European javelin champion Barbora Spotakova and world junior race walking champion Anezka Drahotova.

“Eight Czech athletes feature in the top eight in their event on this year’s world lists,” said national coach Tomas Dvorak. “That puts us in a good place to challenge for medals.”
