USA’s Kaylin Whitney and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith dominate the year’s junior list. Whitney having the lead at 11.10, a world youth best, but Asher-Smith holding four of the top six times this year.

Whitney’s list-leading mark came at the USA Junior Championships on the same Hayward Field track which will host the championships later this month, but Asher-Smith put up an 11.14 on the same day in the German city of Mannheim before running a just wind-assisted 11.03.

Should either slip, their team mates Ariana Washington of the US and Desiree Henry of Great Britain are close behind, the latter being also famous for helping light the flame at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
