    • Abubaker Kaki (SUD) 2:15.77 for 1000m at GE Galan in 2008
    • Yamile Aldama of Sudan on her way to winning the bronze medal in the women's Triple Jump final

Teenage middle distance sensation Abubaker Khamis Kaki and All-African Games Triple Jump champion Yamile Aldama will represent Sudan in the 12th IAAF World Indoor Championships, Valencia, Spain (7-9 March 2008).

Kaki, who ran the fastest ever 1000m for a junior indoors in Stockholm last week, will compete in the 800m in only his second meeting at that distance. The 18-year takes a creditable reputation into these championships after winning the Leipzig meeting (17 Feb) in 1:46.40. He also has a personal best of 1:43.90 for the outdoor two-lap event (2007).

Sudanʼs other representative in Valencia will be triple jumper Yamile Aldama, bronze medallist in Moscow two years ago who is eager to improve her podium placing this year. The 35-year-old continued her continental dominance with an All-African Games title in Algiers last year and has an outdoor personal best of 15.29m from the 2003 Rome Golden League.
