Cordera Jenkins gave the USA its second gold medal of the Championships, when he ran a new personal best of 13.35 to win the boys 110m Hurdles final.

Jenkins spoiled the ambitions of Ryan Brathwaite of Barbados, who came to Marrakech as the favourite for this event and reinforced the odds when he set a world youth leading mark of 13.34in the heats on Wednesday.

Brathwaite had to settle for silver as his final desperate sprint off the last hurdle was not enough to catch the American, who crossed the finish line  9-hundredths ahead of the Barbadian, who edged Great Britain’s Gianni Francis into third place, with Francis pulling out a new PB of 13.48.
