Short and sweet! Certainly an apt description of Veronica Campbell-Brown's indoor season, which consisted of just two competitions prior to her successful defence of the World Indoor 60m title. In this month's exclusive IAAF diary entry, the two-time Olympic 200m champion talks a little about her stay in Istanbul and the 'easy week' that followed back home.

"Hello Fans,

"The month of March has come and gone with a quickness similar to a 50m race! Goodbye indoors, hello outdoors. It was a brief indoor season for me with just two races and then the World Indoor Championships. Istanbul, Turkey was the venue for the World Indoors and I must say I enjoyed my stay there.  I arrived there early enough to be able to get in a day of sightseeing. Normally, I do not indulge in such an activity when I am at competitions, however, I could not resist the urge to visit the Blue Mosque and I must say I was extremely impressed with its architecture and history. I also enjoyed the food which I found quite flavourful. Speaking of food, I was treated to a wonderful dinner by my management team after my 60m victory.

"After returning home from the championship, I had an easy week in preparation for my transition into the outdoor season. Now, I am back at work intending to commence the outdoor season in late April. During my rest week, so to speak, my husband and I took time to enjoy the movie Safe House, we have been trying to watch this movie since it came out, however, training never allowed for this, however, we finally got the chance. It is a great movie, I always enjoy watching Denzel Washington showcase his excellent talent. This is a movie I would definitely recommend.

"This is the time of the year for the high school championships in Jamaica popularly called “Champs”. Like most diehard Jamaican this is a must see event so I was fortunate to view the spectacle from online. My high school Vere Technical did creditably well, I look forward to the day when they will be crowned champions again.

"Thanks for reading,"
