“Hey everybody

“I am excited to start two-a-day workouts this week. Normally, I don’t start until in the summer but I am able to begin a lot earlier this year because I don’t have to worry about school after graduating from USC last month with a degree in elementary education.

“Normally, my first work out is at 9:30 a.m. and the second is at 3:30 p.m. Then after that I do weights. One practice focuses on blocks and the other is a conditioning workout. I am excited to improve on my start without losing anything conditioning work.

“My first double workout is tomorrow. The next day, I am leaving to Beijing for photo shoots for adidas for the Olympics through 6 February. I hope to go by the Olympic Stadium and coach Bobby Kersee and I want to look at different locations to stay at close to the Stadium, particularly when I need to run in one day.

“In 2004, I stayed at the Olympic Village with U.S. team-mates but Bobby (Kersee) usually has his athletes stay at other locations to avoid distractions.

“Last weekend (20 Jan), I was honoured as the Los Angeles Sports Council “2007 Sportswoman of the Year” at a black-tie dinner at Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

“It was nice to be an athlete from an Olympic sport and get that exposure and especially to be from Los Angeles and get that recognition. My only disappointment was not getting to meet David Beckham, who was named “Sportsman of the Year.”

“I’ve been checking up on the indoor track season and watched the Reebok Indoor Games on T.V. last weekend. It’s nice to be a spectator and fan of track and field. I would like to compete but indoors has never been my strong point. It’s best for me to have patience, sit back and train.

“That’s it for now. Talk to you soon.”
