Back in full training, Allyson Felix took time off the track to celebrate her 26th birthday in style...

“Greetings

“I had a busy two weeks at the end of November. I celebrated my 26th birthday on 18 Nov. I had a 70's and 80's roller skating party. It was so much fun to dress up and see all of my friends skating including my coach Bobby Kersee.

“On Thanksgiving, I ate a lot like I always do! Me and my brother Wes have had a tradition since high school of always doing a workout together on thanksgiving so we kept the tradition going this year.

“I am going to run in the 60m at the Millrose Games at the Armory in New York City in February. I'm still figuring out my indoors schedule. It will be very limited. I decided to run this year just to work on some technical aspects of my race. I'm really using it as a training tool.

"Workouts are progressing. Some days when we have longer distance runs I hate it and other days when we only have to go around the track once I love it. But I'm really enjoying preparing and pushing myself so far.

“I haven't been doing much traveling lately. I've just been focusing on training. I attend the UCLA-USC football game won by my alma mater 50-0 at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The USC-UCLA game is always a lot of fun because both schools take the rivalry seriously. It wasn't much of a game but I always enjoying going back to my school to check some football out.

“I'm really excited for the NBA to be coming back. I can't wait for Christmas day to check out all the games and my favorite team Los Angeles Lakers.”

“Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”

Allyson
