28 April 2011Getting off to a solid start in a pair of relay outings, three-time World 200m champion Allyson Felix is now looking forward to a pair of return engagements - this weekend's Penn Relays in Philadelphia and her 2011 Samsung Diamond League debut in Doha next weekend.

“I'm heading to Philadelphia to run in the Penn Relays this weekend in the USA vs. The World competition on Saturday (30 Apr.)

“I've been going to Penn ever since I've been a professional and there really is no other meet like it. The atmosphere is amazing and I love the USA rivalry with Jamaica. I'm disappointed that I'll miss the UCLA-USC dual meet at my alma mater USC (1 May) because I'll be competing  at Penn but I'm wishing the Trojans all the best!

“After Penn, I will open with a 400 in Doha in the opening meet of the Samsung Diamond League. I'll also compete in the Manchester City Games where I will run the 200 straightaway. I love that event because it's on the street and you’re up close to all the fans which brings great energy.

“Thus far, I have run only relays. I ran the 4 x 100m and the 4 x 400m Relays in the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on my training track at UCLA (9 April) and the 4 x 100m at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays on 16 April.

“I love opening my season with relays, and have so much fun competing with my training partners. It's always exciting to start competing again.

“I been impressed with LJ van Zyl of South Africa. After setting a South African record of 47.66 in the 400m Hurdles, he lowered his PB in the 400m from 45.82 to 44.86 and continues to run impressively.

“I’ve been following the NBA playoffs and my favorite team, the Los Angeles Lakers. I’ve only been to one game of the first round against the New Orleans Hornets.

“Thanks for reading. You guys can also keep up with me at www.allysonfelix.com
