A return to a favorite city in her only race in August laid the foundation for her ‘off-season’ projects as Veronica Campbell Brown changes her spikes for ordinary shoes for the remainder of 2010.

"Zurich and the Letzigrund stadium holds a lot of memories for me, actually the “old” Letzigrund stadium.

"It was there in 2005 that I had established my then 100m personal best of 10.85 seconds.

"Since that wet Friday five years ago, it was my first time back in this famous athletic city. I was greeted by a wonderful state of the art stadium and of course the familiar warmth and efficiency of the Zürich staff.

"Just as it was in 2005, it was by a narrow margin that I was able to win my race, this time running 10.89 seconds in what was my first and final race for the month of August.

"It was the first time since I became a professional runner that barring injury, I have not competed into September. I spent the rest of August laying the groundwork for a few of the “off season” projects I will be embarking on once September rolls around.

"I am happy that Alain Bailey a long jumper, who like myself is from the University of Arkansas and sprinter Porscha Lucas of Texas A&M University has joined my management group. I wish them the best as they launch their professional careers.

"Until next time,"
