In her latest diary entry Allyson Felix writes about the coming outdoor season, the charity Children's Miracle Network, and her workout programme ‘Glisten’.

“Hi Everybody

“As the indoor season is winding down, I am starting to gear up the focus to begin racing of my own.

“I will participate at Mt. San Antonio College Relays in the 4x1 and 4x4 with my training partners in April.  I'm excited for the season to be here but I have also enjoyed my time at home with my dog Chloe.

“I enjoyed watching the USATF Indoor Nationals, especially Terrence Trammell’s PR in the hurdles, Jenn Stuczynski’s American record in the pole vault and Lolo Jones winning the Visa Championship after her run in the 60m hurdles.

“It's always exciting watching Lisa Barber run the 60 and seeing Tianna Madison also running so well.

“The weather here in Los Angeles has been kind of unpredictable with warm, sunny days followed by cold and rainy ones. The weather hasn't affected my training that much.

“When it rains sometimes we warm up and stretch inside and then come outside once we start the actual workout.  My most challenging days are when we are doing tempo work, anything including 600's is difficult for me.  I love to sprint.

“I've still been pretty busy during my time away from the track.  I'm getting ready to go to an event for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) where they will be honoring some very special children.

“I love the Children's Miracle Network for the amazing work they do in the lives of so many young children and their families.

“The CMN event is a celebration of a child from every state who has bravely battled severe medical challenges. These children represent the amazing work being done in hospitals around the country and the 17 million children who are treated and CMN hospitals each year.

“The celebration will take place at the Walt Disney World Resort and from there the children will continue the excitement by going on to meet the President as they visit the White House.

“I'm also honored to be apart of Adidas' Super 7 Campaign for Berlin that will be shooting this upcoming week.

“Finally, my workout program Glisten (www.glisten.net). It's something catered toward helping women having an active lifestyle I started with my brother Wes is growing which is so exciting.  We are looking forward to introducing two new workouts, Oasis and Wheatgrass.

“The Oasis Workout is a circuit based workout that is delivered 3 times a week it can be done at home, hotel or the gym. It is great for people of all ages.

“The Wheatgrass is a workout for beginners or those that just don't have the time for a formal workout. It provides you with small and easy tips that you can apply to your week. It even provides you with a great recipe for the week and a fun new musical artist every week.

“I really hope that women will find these workouts helpful.

“Best wishes. I’ll have another update for you soon
