16 September 2008 - Monte-Carlo - This year’s edition of the annual IAAF Combined Events Challenge, which was celebrating its eleventh season, was won by Belarussian decathlete Andrei Kravchenko and US heptathlete Hyleas Fountain. Both won this award for the first time.

13 November 2008 - Talence, France - Maurice Smith ended first day of the Décastar IAAF World Combined Events Challenge meeting in Talence as the overnight Decathlon leader with 4328 points, closely followed by Andrei Kravchenko. In the women’s Heptathlon, Kelly Sotherton, who finished fourth at the Olympic Games in Beijing, is in the lead, 69 points ahead of Olympic silver medallist, Hyleas Fountain.

1 July 2008 – Eugene, Oregon, USA - Bryan Clay amassed a personal best 8832 points to win the US Olympic Decathlon title on Monday evening (30). It was the third national title for the silver medal winner in the Athens Olympics.
