Report: pentathlon 60m hurdles – IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016

Canada’s 2014 world indoor silver medallist Brianne Theisen-Eaton got off to a great start in her quest to win her first world title by dominating the pentathlon 60m hurdles in a personal best of 8.04.

“I was ready to go,” she said. “I am so excited. It is fun to compete at home. Hopefully it will be a good day.”

Two Ukrainians also confirmed their medal intentions at the Oregon Convention Center. World leader Anastasiya Mokhnyuk improved her personal best to 8.11 while 2014 world indoor bronze medallist Alina Fodorova ran a lifetime best of 8.27 to rank third.

NCAA indoor champion Kendell Williams had an off start and is ranked fourth with 8.31. Nine of the 12 participants scored 1000 points or more in the opening event.
