Felix continues to weigh 200/400m double option - IAAF Online Diaries

Although she took the winter off from competition, three-time World 200m champion Allyson Felix has been busy in training, continuing to weigh her options of a 200/400m double at the US nationals later this summer.

“Although I am not competing during the indoor season, I'm enjoying watching.
“There have been lots of exciting performances so far.  Teddy Tamgho and Ashton Eaton breaking their own world records is amazing.
“On the women's side Marshevet Myers coming back to the long jump with a world leading jump is extremely impressive and she is sprinting so well also.  Natasha Hastings looks great in the 400m and really strong, I know it's going to be a great year for her.  Bianca Knight's 300m was also very impressive.  It should be a really fun year!
“My training is continuing to go well.  I'm really happy with where I'm at during this part of the year.  This year we have incorporated long runs into our training which I have noticed has been really beneficial.  I'm looking forward to the next phase of training.
“I'm monitoring my training to see how it is going to see if I can run competitively the 400m along with the 200m.  I'll continue to train and see how things go before I make a final decision about Nationals.  But I know that I will run 400s during the year regardless.
“I'm a huge basketball fan so I have really enjoyed NBA all-star being in LA last weekend. I attended the dunk contest and all-star game and various other events that went on during the week.
“I also had fun watching the Super Bowl, I thought that the Steelers would win with their experience and defense.  I was really excited for Clay Matthews as a fellow (USC) Trojan to win. I thought the game was really exciting and competitive.
“In addition to training, I've been doing photo shoots with my sponsor which are always lots of fun.  I love getting to do something different and away from the track.
