IAAF World Championships London 2017 statistics handbook now available

The athletics statistics handbook for the IAAF World Championships London 2017 is now available to access and download from the IAAF website as an online ebook.

The 810-page book has been produced in collaboration with the Association of Track and Field Statisticians (ATFS) and edited by renowned athletics statistician Mark Butler.

It features a wealth of information, including results and reports of every round of every event that has taken place at each of the 15 editions of the IAAF flagship event. There are also all-time medals tables, statistics on the oldest and youngest athletes in World Championships history, a full country index, plus much more.

"Five years after 2012, and rather longer since 1908 and 1948, London is again the venue for a global gathering of athletics excellence," said IAAF President Sebastian Coe. "Those three occasions were of course Olympic Games, each providing indelible memories and milestones. As the IAAF World Championships come to London for the first time, we can anticipate more such historic moments.

"One of the reasons we remember such feats is because of books like these, packed with statistics and stories reminding us of breathtaking achievements in the 15 previous IAAF World Championships. Surely some of our recent past champions will succeed again in August 2017. There is a good chance that some of the class of London 2012 will return to the podium again at the IAAF World Championships London 2017 in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park."

The IAAF World Championships London 2017 will be held from 4-13 August.
