The International Athletics Foundation (IAF) council met on Friday morning (21) under the chairmanship of president Lamine Diack and in the presence of HSH the Prince Albert II, honorary president of the Foundation.
In addition to the yearly World Athletics Gala, the council approved 14 projects for 2015, supporting:
. The laying down a synthetic track in the Solomon Islands
. The purchase of technical equipment in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Cuba
. The edition of five books: one by Robert Quercetani on the “Asides of Athletics”, translation in Portuguese of Mr Rocky Parks’ initiative (“Beyond the Human Limits”), the work of Mr Helmut Digel (and University of Tubingen) on “Challenges in Athletics and Solution”, a book on Istvan Gyulai and research by the NACAC Women’s Commission of the role of the women in the athletics structures of this part of the world
. The organisation of two competitions: the Memorial Primo Nebiolo Meeting in Turin and the longest race walking event: Paris Colmar (almost 500km)
. An exhibition of athletics memorabilia in Brazil
. A research to be conducted in Great Britain about the feasibility of having long throws competitions on synthetic turf
The council also put in place a new concept called “Matching Grants” where, under certain conditions, the foundation will provide 50% of a project's funding if the other half of its costs can be raised locally.
In total, 48 applications were received and the council chose 11 of them coming from Austria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Czech Republic, Eritrea, Greece, Guinea, Ireland, Lithuania, Maldives, New Zealand and Nicaragua.

Le Conseil de l'IAF donne son accord pour les projets choisis pour 2015
Le Conseil de la Fondation internationale pour l'athlétisme (l'IAF) s'est réuni vendredi matin (21) sous la houlette de son président, Lamine Diack, et en présence de SAS le Prince Albert II, président honoraire de la Fondation.
En plus du gala de l'athlétisme mondial, tenu annuellement, le Conseil a approuvé 14 autres projets pour 2015, s'engageant ce faisant à soutenir:
. L'installation d'une piste synthétique aux Iles Solomon
. L'achat d'équipements techniques au Nicaragua, au Salvador, au Costa Rica et à Cuba
. L'édition de cinq ouvrages: un par Robert Quercetani (Asides of Athletics), une traduction vers le portugais de l'initiative de M. Rocky Parks (Beyond the Human Limits), les travaux de M. Helmut Digel (et de l'université de Tubingen) intitulés Challenges in Athletics and Solution, un livre sur Istvan Gyulai, et les recherches menées par la Commission des femmes de la NACAC sur le rôle des femmes dans les structures d'athlétisme dans cette région du monde.
. L'organisation de deux compétitions: le Meeting mémorial Primo-Nebiolo à Turin et la plus longue épreuve de marche sur route, avec une distance de près de 500km, le Paris-Colmar
. Une exposition d'artefacts liés à l'athlétisme, organisée au Brésil
. Des recherches devant être menées en Grande-Bretagne sur la possibilité d'organiser les compétitions de lancers longs sur des pelouses synthétiques
Le Conseil a également mis en place un concept nouveau appelé “Subventions égalées" [Matching Grants] qui verra, sous certaines conditions, l'IAF fournir 50% des coûts liés à un projet si les autres 50% peuvent être levés localement.
Au total, 48 demandes ont été reçues et le Conseil en a sélectionné onze, venant d'Autriche, de la République démocratique du Congo, d'Erythrée, de Grèce, de Guinée, d'Irlande, de Lituanie, des Maldives, de Nouvelle-Zélande, du Nicaragua et de la République tchèque.
