Former Greek Olympic Committee president Kyriakou dies

Minos Kyriakou, former president of the Greek Olympic Committee, died of a heart attack on Sunday (2) at the age of 75.

After Athens hosted the Olympic Games in 2004, Kyriakou become president of the Greek Olympic Committee, a position he held until 2009.

Kyriakou served as an IAAF Council member from 2003 to 2007. He was also the organiser of the Tsiklitira Super Grand Prix in Athens.

Kyriakou is survived by his three children: Xenophon, Theodore and Athina.
