Olympic film maker Bud Greenspan dies

Bud Greenspan (USA) the celebrated Olympic film maker, died in New York City on December 25, aged 84. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease.

Jonah (Bud) Greenspan  was born on 18 September 1926 in New York City, USA. He was the winner of eight Emmy awards and was awarded the Olympic Order, the IOC's highest honour, for his body of work.

IAAF President Lamine Diack was “deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr Bud Greenspan who contributed greatly to the Olympic movement, and I am sure he will stay among us eternally through his films.” 

“On behalf of the world athletics community, I would like to hereby extend my heartfelt condolences and my deepest sympathy on this painful occasion.”
