Ukraine's pole vault legend and IAAF Vice President Sergey Bubka received the award for Outstanding Individual Contribution at the International Sports Event Management (ISEM) Awards on Wednesday (6).
The Award is the highest honour given to an individual in the international sports event management industry.
Bubka received his award at the event which concluded the two-day Sport Events Management Conference,. The former World and Olympic champion, who is still the World record holder in his specialist event, was praised for the breadth of his involvement in the Olympic Movement.
He was actively been involved in the organization of the 2013 World Athletics Championships and 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships.
It is awarded to an individual considered to have made the most significant contribution to the development of the international sports event management sector.
In addition to being an IAAF Vice President, Sergey Bubka is also a member of the International Olympic Committee Executive Board and President of the Ukrainian Olympic Committee. He received his award from Great Britain’s IOC Vice President Sir Craig Reedie, who was a member of the judging panel for the awards.

Sergey Bubka récipiendaire du Prix de la "Contribution individuelle extraordinaire" lors des Prix de la Conférence International Sports Event Management
Sergey Bubka, le légendaire spécialiste du saut à la perche, et vice-président de l'IAAF, a reçu un prix reconnaissant sa Contribution individuelle exceptionnelle à l'occasion d'une cérémonie organisée ce mercredi (6) dans le cadre de la Conférence International Sports Event Management (ISEM).
Ce prix est le plus grand honneur remis à une personnalité dans le secteur de la gestion des manifestations sportives internationales.
Bubka a reçu son prix lors de la cérémonie qui clôturait la conférence de deux jours de l'International Sports Event Management. L'ancien champion olympique et mondial, qui détient toujours le record du monde de la discipline, a été ainsi reconnu pour l'étendue de sa participation dans le Mouvement olympique.
Il a été activement impliqué dans l'organisation des Championnats du monde de l'IAAF 2013 ainsi que dans celle des Championnats du monde de l'IAAF Cadets 2013.
Ce prix est remis à la personne considérée comme ayant apporté la contribution la plus significative au développement du secteur de la gestion de manifestations sportives internationales.
En plus d'être vice-président de l'IAAF, Sergey Bubka est également membre de la Commission exécutive du Comité international olympique et président du Comité national olympique ukrainien. Son prix lui a été remis par le Britannique Sir Craig Reedie, vice-président du CIO, et membre du jury de la compétition.
