MonteCarloWith just over one week to go to the celebration of the 2011 World Athletics Gala, the IAAF has the pleasure to announce the three Male and three Female Athletes who are still in contention to become the 2011 World Athlete of the Year.
Following a three-week poll, the three male and three female athletes who gathered the most votes are:

Female Finalists are: (in alphabetical order)
Valerie Adams, New Zealand

Sally Pearson, Australia
The winners of the 2011 World Athlete of the Year Awards will be announced live, on stage, during the 2011 World Athletics Gala, which will take place in Monaco, on 12 November 2011.
