4th WMRA Grand Prix Set for Sunday

Jonathan Wyatt of New Zealand and Anna Pichrtova of the Czech Republic are the strong favourites to establish unbeatable leads in the WMRA Grand Prix of Mountain cars when they run the Course des Deux Bains from Saillon to Ovronnaz (Valais, Switzeralnd) on Sunday (24).

With an athlete’s best four results out of six to count and with each having three wins already, it appears that only the minor places are yet to be resolved.

Wyatt is holder of the course record and there are no Europeans who can challenge him at present. Picrtova, disappointingly only seventh in the World Trophy two weeks ago, must recover to beat Isabelle Guillot of France who took bronze in that event.

Athletes have to cross a deep gorge on a narrow suspended footbridge called the ‘Passerelle a Farinet’ where it has been known for some athletes suffering from Vertigo to be blindfolded and led across by hand. It is not expected that there will be a big problem in this respect this weekend.

The course in 9.5Km long with a climb of 1054m.
