AliGerritsenDe Vries died at her hometown Amsterdam on Saturday 20 January 2007. She was 92 years old. She will be buried next Friday (26) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
As Ali de Vries she was a member of the Dutch 4 x 100metres team which finished fifth (48.8) in the final of the Olympic Games of Berlin (1936).
The Dutch team was composed as follows: Kitty ter Braak, Fanny Koen (=Blankers), Ali de Vries and Lies Koning.
