Long jumper Anju Bobby George, the runnerup in last year’s World Athletics Final in Monaco, will be the sole Indian entrant for the 11th IAAF World Indoor Championships, Moscow, Russia (10 -12 March).

When compared to her opponents George has much less experience in indoors with the 2003 World Championships in  Birmingham and this year's Asian Championships in Pattaya, her only appearances so far. In Birmingham she finished seventh with a 6.40m national indoor record jump, while at Pattaya a 6.32m gave her the silver medal.

The 2003 outdoor World Championships bronze medallist, George recorded her personal best of 6.83m outdoors when finishing sixth in the Olympic Games in Athens, the following year. The 28-year-old was fifth last year in the World Championships in Helsinki.

George will travel to the Russian capital after competing in the Federation Cup Indian outdoor championships which is currently underway at New Delhi. She will also take part in the Commonwealth Games at Melbourne thereafter.
