MonteCarloThe IAAF is extremely concerned to learn that Artur Takac, Honorary IAAF Life Personal Member, has gone missing during a family ski holiday in Kopaonik, the highest mountain in central Serbia.
Artur, who is 86 and has been an expert ski enthusiast all his life, went out last Wednesday to ski in bad weather conditions, and failed to return.
He has not been seen since and a massive rescue operation, involving more than 100 people from emergency services and the military, continues to scour the area, under difficult weather conditions, for signs of Artur.
The IAAF continues to hope for Artur's rescue and we will remain in close contact with his family at this difficult time.
IAAF
