Japan’s 2004 Olympic hammer champion Koji Murofushi has been appointed as a special advisor for Asics.

The 2011 world champion will not only consult on products and services, but will also serve as a global brand ambassador to help promote sports worldwide.

“I am extremely pleased to have reached an agreement with Asics on becoming a special advisor,” said Murofushi, who will start the role on 1 September.

“I share Asics’ ‘a sound mind in a sound body’ founding philosophy and I hope to use the experience and knowledge I’ve gained through sports to contribute further to the promotion of sports together with Asics.”
