honoured at Buckingham Palace
Uk Athletics announced that the top athletes of 1998 will be honoured at Buckingham Palace
on Tuesday 8 June when awards will be presented by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
Julie
Pratt, World Junior 100m hurdles Champion, will be awarded the Nelson Neal Memorial Trophy
for the best female junior performance of 1998.
Christian Malcolm, World Junior 100m and 200m Champion, will receive the Les Jones
memorial Trophy for the best junior male performance.
Denise Lewis, European
Heptathlon Champion, will receive the Sybil Abrahams Memorial Trophy for the best senior
female performance.
Iwan Thomas, European
and Commonwealth 400m Champion, will receive the London AC Centenary Trophy for the best
senior male performance.
The athletes will be accompanied by UK athletics president, David Hemery MBE, and AAAE
President Sir Arthur Gold.
