Backley wins javelin, as Buckland sets 10.13 100m record and Chaussinand throws hammer 80m in Mauritius
23 April 2002 - Réduit, Mauritius – Britain’s Olympic silver medallist Steve Backley won the javelin at the Air Mauritius International meet in the Maryse Justin Stadium in Réduit on 21 April. Other highlights were an 80.68m hammer throw from France’s David Chaussinand, the second longest performance in the world this year, and a 10.13 second National 100m record for Stéphan Buckland of Mauritius.
