In a press release dispatched through the French Federation 2003 Long Jump World champion Eunice Barber declared she will skip the 2005 Indoor season.
"Together with my coaches Bob Kersee and Claude Monot we have decided that my number one goal for 2005 will be the World Championships in Helsinki."
"Therefore we have decided that I should stay in California with Bob until the spring as the training conditions are ideal here."
"As a consequence I will not compete in the indoor season."
