CHIHUAHUA FACTS
Population - 800,000 inhabitants for the city, 3,240,000 for the state
Climate - Average temperature approximately 21°C in May.
Official airport - General Fiero Villa International Airport (CUU), 16kms from Sports City Park
Description - Founded 12 October 1709 and located in north Mexico, 350 kms from Juarez City, the biggest border city and the most visited from all America.
It is 5 hours from El Paso Texas, USA. It is the 2nd most important city in
the state in industrial and economic matters.
Altitude - 1,440 m
Remarks - Organisation by the State Government in May and June 2010 of a special event called “Three Centuries, Three Celebrations”, celebrating through national and international cultural festivals, art and history expositions, the 100 years of the Mexican Revolution (1910), the 200 years of Mexico’s Independence (1810) and the 300 years of Chihuahua’s
foundation in 1709.
Competition Venue - Circuit located into the 1st main square of the city.

ENTRY STANDARDS
There have been no set qualification standards established but it is strongly recommended, to keep a high level of competition, that Race Walkers should achieve at least the following performances:
• 20K Men 1:45
• 50K Men 4:51
• 20K Women 1:51

Therefore, competing athletes who pass the finish line at the beginning of the last lap shall be stopped if their times exceed as follows:
• 20K Men 1:35
• 50K Men 4:40
• 20K Women 1:40

ENTRIES

Team Entries

Senior Races - A Member Federation may enter a maximum of seven race walkers but no more than five shall be allowed to start in the race, of which three will score in each race.

Senior Men’s Races – A Member Federation may enter a team in the 20km or the 50km or both races.

Junior Races - A Member Federation may enter a maximum of five race walkers, but no more than three shall be allowed to start in the race, of which two will score in each race.

Age Categories

50km Men – Only Senior athletes (i.e. aged at least 20 on 31 December of the year of the competition) may compete in the 50km Men.

20km - A Junior athlete (aged 18 or 19 on 31 December of the year of the competition) may compete in the Senior 20km race. However, a Junior athlete may not compete in the 20km and the Junior race.

Junior Races – Any athlete aged 16 to 19 on 31 December of the year of the competition may be entered in the Junior races.

No athlete aged less Uthan 16 years of age on 31 December of the year of the competition may compete in any race.
