Monte-Carlo – With just over three weeks to go until the start of the biggest global sports event of 2009, the IAAF is delighted to announce the launch of its new website for the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics, Berlin, Germany (15-23 Aug).
There is plenty on offer to attract, inform, entertain, and illuminate the enjoyment of all the fans of our sport for what is the world’s third largest sports event after the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.
The site is already full of news and information, and when the championships begin the Broadcasting section in particular will burst into action with:
VIDEO: 3-mins highlights of each SESSION; Features
RADIO: ‘LIVE’ commentary, comment and interviews throughout the championships
PODCASTS: Audio interviews with the major stars
IAAF Fantasy Athletics - presented by EPSON - great prizes to be won
It's game time too! With the IAAF Fantasy Athletics game which covers the one day meeting season already well underway, in the next few days a Berlin World Championships specific game presented by EPSON will open for registration enabling fans to select a team of champion athletes from those competing in Berlin.
As usual participants will score points depending on their team’s performances and be able to compare their rankings with others from all over the world. Registration is free, and there are great prizes to be won including a trip for two to an IAAF event.

A trois semaines de Berlin 2009 – lancement d'un nouveau site internet consacré aux Championnats du Monde de l'IAAF
Monte-Carlo – A trois semaines des 12èmes Championnats du Monde de l'IAAF, organisés à Berlin du 15 au 23 août, l’IAAF a le plaisir de présenter un nouveau site internet entièrement consacré à cet événement, la manifestation sportive la plus importante de la planète en 2009.
Le site contient de nombreux éléments tant ludiques qu'utiles qui informeront et compléteront les connaissances de tous les fanatiques de l'athlétisme à l'occasion de ce qui est, après les Jeux Olympiques et la Coupe du Monde de football, la principale compétition sportive au monde.
Le site contient déjà de nombreux articles et informations qui seront, après l'ouverture de la compétition, complétés par une section audio-vidéo offrant les services suivants:
Vidéo: des reportages ainsi que des résumés de 3 minutes de chaque SÉANCE
Radio: des commentaires en direct et des interviews
Podcasts: des interviews audio avec les principaux athlètes.
IAAF Fantasy Athletics, présenté par EPSON: de nombreux prix à remporter
Au-delà de l’aspect éditorial, les internautes pourront également jouer à IAAF Fantasy Athletics, un jeu présenté par EPSON, qui recouvre la saison des compétitions d'un jour, et dont une version sera spécialement conçue pour Berlin.
Les internautes pourront s'inscrire et choisir une équipe d’athlètes engagés à Berlin. Ils pourront donc comparer leurs scores et se mesurer à d’autres internautes. L’inscription est gratuite et il y a plusieurs prix à gagner dont un voyage pour deux pour une compétition de l'IAAF.
