Mauritian sprinter, Stéphan Buckland, three times finalist at the World Championships, announced yesterday during a press conference, held at the Primo Nebiolo House at the Maryse Justin stadium, that he is putting an end to the 2007 season due to a severe back injury, incurred in February.
“I’m very disappointed about it, but I prefer to stop here to heal this injury in very brief delays. If the pain is still here in the next couple of days, the only mean to clear the problem will be surgery”, said Buckland who will miss the African Games in Algiers and the 11th IAAF World Championships in Osaka.
