The Bulgarian track & field team for next weekend’s 10th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics, Budapest, Hungary (5-7 March) are as follows -

Men

ILIYAN EFREMOV (POLE VAULT)
Born 02.08.1970 in Sofia. “AC “Levski”. Coach Miladin Parvanov (2.15 HJ). PB 5.70 (1998) & 5.73i (1998). Made 5.75 at Ostrava’s  square on 12 June 2003. Balkan champion four times. Single. Other pb: HJ 190; 110 m h 14.62. Season best – 5.73.

PETAR DACHEV (LONG JUMP)
Born 15.06.1979 in Troyan. “CSKA”. Coach Lilyana Moneva Videva – 183 HJ). 1st at WCj in Annecy ’98 (8.14). Third at EC Budapest ’98. 11th at Oly ’00 Sydney. 1st ECi ’00. 3d at Eci ’02. 7th at WCi ’03. Pb 8.30 (2000) & 8.27 indoors (2002). Other pbs 100 m 10.58 (99). Sb 8.08 & 8.10i. Season pb – 7.80 m. Single. His sister Petya Dacheva has 13.26 at TJ (2003). Season best in 2004 – 7.80 m.

MOMCHIL KARAILIEV (TRIPLE JUMP)
Born 21.05.1982 in Sliven. “ASC Sliven”. Coach Atanas Ivanov (219 HJ). Fourth at EC U23 at TJ. Pb 16.95 (2003)& LJ 749 (2003). Indoor pb 16.53 (04). Single.

DANIELA YORDANOVA (1500 M)
Born 08.03.1976 Slivnitsa. Coach Dimitar Vasilev. 10th at Oly 2000 Sydney at 5000 m. Fifth at ECi Gent 2000 at 3000 m.Fifth at WCi 2001 Lisabon at 1500 m. Fifth at ECi Wien 2002 & EC Munich 2002 at 1500 m. Seventh at WC in Paris 2003 at 1500 m. Bulgarian record holder at 3000 m (8:30.59) and 5000 m (14:56.25) and 3000 m indoors (8:47.25). Other pbs: 800 m 2:03.02; 1500 m 4:00.65; 10000 m 37:30.21; 1500 m indoors 4:06.00 (2000). She has no any start indoors in 2004 before World Champs in Budapest. Single.

VENELINA VENEVA (HIGH JUMP).
Born 13.06.1974 in Ruse. “Elit Vratsa”. Coach Georgi Dimitrov. She made 1.93 when was 15y 8m 11d in Dobrich on 24.02.1990. Was also second ECj ’91 at HJ. Was Fifth at EC ’98. Fourth ECi 2000. Ninth at Oly ’00. At WCi ’01 third. Fourth at WC Edmonton 2001. Pb 204 (2000) & 202i (2002). Other pbs: TJ 12.51; LJ 6.17i (1990). Her older sister Kremena was inaugural Bulgarian TJ recordholder with 12.11i (1990). Season best 193. Married with a daughter Neapola.

ANTONIYA YORDANOVA (LONG JUMP).
Born 17 August 1976 in Kyustendil. “Lokomotiv Plovdiv”. Coached by Atanas Atanasov (8.31 LJ in 1984). Seventh at WCj 1995 at Heptathlon. Eight at ECi in Wien 2002 at LJ. Best achievements at LJ 6.70 (2002) & 6.65 (2004). Other pbs: 100 m 11.94 (1996); 200 m 24.2 (1995); 100 m h 14.2 (1995); HJ 176 (1995); TJ 13.51 (2003). Best pb in 2004 indoor season – 6.65 – fourth in Bulgarian history indoors. Divorced.

TEREZA MARINOVA (TRIPLE JUMP).
Born at 05.09.1977 in Pleven. “Chendini” Sofiya. First coach Svetoslav Topouzov, now Khristo Markov – Olympic, world and European Champion & European record holder. European junior champion at Nyiregihasa’95 (13.90). World junior champion in Sydney’96 with world junior record (14.62). Eight at WCi Paris’97 and sixth outdoors in Athens’97. Bronze medalist from EC in Budapest’98 (14.50). Fourth at WCi in Maebashi’99 (14.76). Olympic champion in Sydney’2000 with national record (15.20). World indoor champion in Lisboa’2001 (14.91). Third at WC in Edmonton’01. European indoor champion in Wien’02 (14.81). Personal bests: At TJ 15.20 & 14.91i; at LJ 6.63w & 6.46 and also 6.53i. Season best 14.43. Not married. Her father Moncho Marinov was Bulgarian record holder at 800 m (1:47.7) from 1974. Her brother Tsvetomir was bronze medalist at 400 m at ECj in Nyiredihasa’95 with national junior record (46.66).
