USA sprinting sensation Xavier Carter has signed on to race at the Tyson Invitational next Friday night, 9 February, at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Carter, one of Team USA’s rising stars, posted the second fastest 200m time in the history of the event last summer at the IAAF Super Grand Prix meet in Lausanne, Switzerland.

He will begin the quest for his first World indoor record at the Tyson Invitational in the 4x400m Relay.

“We are honored that Xavier chose the Tyson Invitational to launch his 2007 season,” Tyson Invitational Meet Director Art Huff said.  “He should have three very good relay teammates to work with and this could be a second event in which we see a World record.  In the end I truly believe that there could be three World records/bests set between the women’s 300, men’s 400 and men’s 4x400m relay.”
