Bryan Clay, the reigning Olympic Decathlon champion and freshly-minted World indoor Heptathlon champion, will be among the headliners at the TNT-Fortuna Combined Events Meeting on 15 and 16 June, organisers announced.

The 30-year-old American, who defended his World indoor Heptathlon title in Doha last weekend when tallying 6204 points, will be gunning for the 9000-point mark and possibly the World record of 9026 points held by Czech Roman Sebrle since 2001, organisers said.

"Clay himself has said that this is probably his last season when he'll have a chance to break the world record," said Meeting Director Zdenek Lubensky. "And we are ready to prepare top conditions for the meeting."

Clay, who also struck Olympic silver in 2004 and World Championships gold in 2005, has tallied 8700 points or more on four occasions, topped by his 8832 best at the 2008 US national championships.

Also confirmed for the meeting, the third Permit meeting of the IAAF World Combined Events Challenge 2010, is Aleksey Drozdov of Russia, who took the bronze in Doha. Drozdov, 26, is also the reigning European championships bronze medallist and has an 8475 career best to his credit from the 2007 World Championships in Osaka.

The slate includes another Russian standout Alexander Pogorelov, the bronze medallist at the World Championships last year. His 8528 tally at Berlin's Olympic Stadium last summer stands as the 30-year-old's personal best.
