Cross country and marathon championships added to Pan American athletics calendar

- The Pan American cross country and marathon championships will be added to the athletics calendar in the continent in 2013, the Association of Pan American Athletics (APA) Executive Board have agreed.

Caracas will host the marathon event in 2013. The cross country competition is scheduled for 16 February next year in a South American city yet to be confirmed.

Lima will welcome race walkers for the Pan American Cup February 9-10 and will also host the Pan American junior championships August 2-4, both in 2013.

Another continental event to be held this Olympic year will be the Pan American Combined Events Championships in Canada in early May.
