Delegations of 2009 Bidding Cities Include Cabinet Minister and Olympic Champion Athletes

The delegations of cities bidding for the 2009 edition of the IAAF World Championships include a number of leading personalities from politics and sport:

Berlin
Otto Schily   - Minister of Interior of Germany
Klaus Wowereit  - Governing Mayor of Berlin
Klaus Böger  - Senator for Youth, School and Sport
Dr. Clemens Prokop  - President of DLV (German Athletics Federation)
Werner Gegenbauer  - Chairman of the Bidding Committee
Heike Drechsler  - Olympic and World Champion
Ulrike Nasse-Meyfarth  - Olympic Champion

Split
Miroslav Bulicic  - Mayor, City of Split
Luciano Susanj   - President of the Croatian Federation (former European champion at 800m)
Jakša Milicic   - President of the Bidding Committee
Madlena Svagusa   - General Secretary of Bidding Committee

Valencia
Cristobal Grau  - Sports Councilor-Valencia City Hall
Jose Maria Odriozola  - President of RFEA
Jose Luis De Carlos  - Director of RFEA
David Serra   - Secretary of Sports-Regional Government
Glory Alozie   - Olympic and World silver medallist

The order of presentations has been decided by a draw this afternoon during a meeting of the IAAF Advisory Board and will be:

Berlin
Valencia
Split

Presentations will start at 14:45 (12:45 GMT) and each presentation will last a maximum of 45 minutes. (includes 15 minutes for questions and answers).
