On the Tuesday 25 November, finding herself with a day off between running in the International Chiba Ekiden (24) and her departure for Melbourne for last Sunday’s Great Australia Run (30), Beijing Olympic marathon gold medallist Constantina Dita travelled into Tokyo and visited the Akasaka headquarters of IAAF broadcasting partner Tokyo Broadcast System (TBS).

While in TBS’ main studios, Dita taped a lengthy interview, commenting on her Beijing race, training, motherhood, and her plans ahead of next summer’s IAAF World Championships in Athletics, Berlin 2009.

Following the interview, Dita signed a picture poster produced from her Olympic race for Sports Director Koichi Itakura and coordinator Susumu Miwa. Plans are to use the interview and comments in TBS various athletics broadcasts, and also in various commercials in the run-up to next year’s World Championships.

With a free hour to spare, Constantina, her son, Rafael, coach Valeriu Tomescu, and manager Brendan Reilly visited the TBS’ gift shop, and the new and bustling Akasaka Sacas shopping and restaurant area next to TBS headquarters, followed by a dinner hosted by the TBS staff at the Italian restaurant “Granada.”
