Djimou and Shkurenev added to Gotzis fields

France’s two-time European heptathlon champion Antoinette Nana Djimou and Russia’s European indoor heptathlon champion Ilya Shkurenev have been added to the fields of the famous Hypo-Meeting in the Austrian town of Gotzis on 30-31 May, the organisers of the IAAF Combined Events Challenge meeting announced on Tuesday (14).

Djimou also took the pentathlon gold medal at the 2011 and 2013 European Indoor Championships while Shkurenev has the additional credentials outdoors of being the 2012 and 2014 European decathlon bronze medallist.

Already announced for Gotzis are both the Olympic combined events champions: Ashton Eaton and Jessica Ennis-Hill.

In addition to Ennis-Hill, Djimou will face a loaded heptathlon field that includes Canada’s Brianne Theisen-Eaton, the Netherlands' Dafne Schippers, and the British pair of Katarina Johnson-Thompson and world junior heptathlon champion Morgan Lake.
