Doping Rule Violation

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has been informed that the male athlete, Scott BOOTHBY, has been found guilty of the following doping violation under IAAF Rules:

Presence of the prohibited substances Finasteride (S5. Diuretics) and 6-Oxo-androstenedione (S1. Anabolic Agents) in his doping control sample (IAAF Rule 32.2a)

This doping violation relates to a samples collected out-of-competition on 25.06.06 and 06.09.06 in the USA.

Mr. Boothby has accepted the following sanction for these two offences:

• 8 years ineligibility (01.08.06 – 31.07.14)
• Disqualification of all results from 25.06.06

This information has been added to the 2006 List of Anti-Doping Rule Violations which can be found on the IAAF website in the anti-doping statistics section.
 
Note: Under the IAAF Rules, athletes sanctioned for a doping violation have the right to appeal this decision to the relevant appeals body.
