Finnish Olympic Committee pre-selections for Beijing

Following his win at the Padua Marathon in Italy on 27 April, Francis Kirwa has been added to the small selection of pre-selections for the Beijing Olympics.

Kirwa, a former Kenyan, is 33-years-old, and his victory in Padua was made in a PB of 2:11:01.

World champion Javelin Throw Tero Pitkämäki, national Marathon recordholder and 2002 European champion Janne Holmén, and two race walkers who were respectively 10th and 11th place finishers at the World Champs in Osaka, Jarkko Kinnunen and Antti Kempas, were selected for the Olympic team at the end of 2007.
