Gold MedallistPaula RADCLIFFE ,GBR
"It was hard out there but I enjoyed it quite a bit too. Last year I knew I had a lot of problems going into the Olympics, those were not necessarily all the reasons for the way it worked out, but this season I just made sure I was healthy coming into Helsinki and just concentrated on what I wanted to do."

"I knew I was running a good pace, so I just had to keep it up until the end."

"You will see me running on the track again in the future. It is very important for me, even though I have been more successful on the road."

"A big "kiitos" to the finnish crowd that supported me through the whole race."

Silver Medallist - Catherine NDEREBA, KEN
"I feel great. I want to thank God for what He has done for me."

"I enjoyed the course very much, it was quite wonderful. The conditions were good today."

"I wasn't trying to follow Paula (RADCLIFFE). I always run my own race maintain my pace listening to my body. You have to run smart."

"At some point towards the end I could feel my calf tightening up and I was a bit concerned but that eased up."

"Paula is a great runner. I feel good for her. But nobody is unbeatable. I beat her in the Olympics. On a good day I can do it again."

Bronze Medallist - Constantina TOMESCU, ROM
"Getting a medal in World Chapionships is something wonderful. I wanted to finish in the top 5 or 6, but the bronze feels like a gold to me. It is my first medal, it is more than what I expected."

"I wanted to run under 2:23, a new PB, but the route was too hard. A lot of uphill and downhill. Especially downhill caused me problems, because my back hurt a lot. Around 25km I realised that Paula (RADCLIFFE) was pulling away and it took me two laps to find the reason for it. It was the downhill part of the course. When running downhill my back hurt, which allowed both RADCLIFFE and NDEREBA to step away a little."

"I prefered this course and this weather to the one in Athens last summer, except for the downhill part of course."
