Future
of IAAF Golden League and Grand Prix to
be discussed in Moscow

October 2001 – Monte Carlo – This week
in Moscow, in the same Congress Center
in which Jacques Rogge was elected
President of the IOC last July, the IAAF
(International
Association of Athletics Federations),
and the
(EAA)
European Athletic Association, will hold
a number of important meetings:
most particularly the 9th
IAAF World Calendar Conference and the
56th European Calendar
Conference.
At the centre of the discussions, which will start on Thursday with the meeting of the IAAF Golden League Working Group, is the definition of the strategies that will be followed, from 2003, for the organisation of the IAAF meetings (Golden League, Grand Prix, Grand Prix II and Permit Meetings).
On Saturday, 20 October at 1.00 pm local time, the President of the IAAF, Lamine Diack, will hold a joint press conference with the President of the European Association, Hansjörg Wirz, to present the conclusions reached during the meetings.
Within the framework of the meetings, the International Athletic Foundation will hold on Saturday and Sunday a seminar entitled: “Management of a National Federation”, attended by experts from around the world.
