The 2016 Globen Galan indoor meeting in Stockholm has assembled an illustrious women’s pole vault field for the IAAF World Indoor Tour event on Wednesday 17 February, including Cuba’s world indoor and outdoor champion Yarisley Silva.

The meeting organisers announced on Tuesday (19) that also present in the Swedish capital next month will be the two women who finished directly behind Silva in that thrilling competition at the IAAF World Championships Beijing 2015: Brazil’s 2011 world champion Fabiana Murer and Greece’s Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou.

However, another athlete can also be expected to garner much of the attention as well, local star Angelica Bengtsson.

Bengtsson finished fourth in Beijing, which helped earn her the recent accolade of being voted the Best Swedish Athlete of 2015.

She hit the headlines at the Ericsson Globe arena back in 2011 when she cleared a world junior record of 4.63m, a mark which was only surpassed last month.

In addition to this quartet, the organisers have also signed up Great Britain’s 2013 European indoor champion Holly Bradshaw and Germany’s two-time European indoor silver medallist Silke Spiegelburg.
