The IAAF has received the very sad news of the death of Mr. Ken Elexey, Junior Vice President of the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG), who passed away on Saturday 6 January 2007, after a short illness with colon cancer.
Mr. Elexey was a dynamic member of the Executive of the AAG and as Junior Vice President was responsible for the Finance & Fundraising Committee. He also served as Secretary of the LOC for the 2004, 2005 editions of the 'South American 10km Road Classic' series in Guyana. He was the Manager of the 2005 South American Senior Championships team in Barquisimeto, Venezuela and the Athletic contingent to the 2006 Commonwealth Games held in Australia.
His funeral will be held on Thursday 11 January 2007.
