Sandro Giovannelli - the IAAF's Director
of Competitions - is 65 today.
Sandro - who has worked for the IAAF in Monaco since 1994 - after building his reputation as a highly popular Meet Director at Rieti in Italy, has no plans to slow down and will continue to contribute to a sport he has been involved in nearly all his adult life.
Sandro will toast the achievement of his latest milestone in the company of his department staff - and a certain ex-athlete called Sergey Bubka, whose 38th birthday is today as well.
